Duration and Timings. The Experience session lasts approximately 2 hours, although the duration may vary depending on the size of the group and the number of students attending. After the Booking our guides come to your school for a site camp survey determining the best place for the experience and necessary arrangements. At Star Safari, our stargazing programs are primarily conducted at night, when students can experience the beauty of the stars, planets and deep sky objects through our telescopes. We carefully manage each session to ensure every student has the opportunity to observe and participate.

The Star Safari Solar Rotation Program is an annual astronomy education program designed to help students experience how the night sky changes throughout the year. As Earth moves around the Sun, different constellations, planets, celestial events, and deep-sky objects become visible. Through regular visits, students can observe these changes firsthand and develop a deeper understanding of the universe.The program provides one educational Star Safari visit per school term, creating a continuous learning experience throughout the academic year. Participating schools receive discounted rates, allowing students to build their astronomy knowledge progressively from one session to the next while strengthening their interest in science and STEM education.Beyond the regular school visits, students involved in astronomy clubs are invited to stargazing events and astronomy workshops. Star Safari also provides reading materials to participating students and rewards outstanding performers with opportunities to receive telescopes, encouraging further exploration and practical learning.A key part of the program is the establishment and development of Astronomy Clubs within subscribed schools. The Star Safari team works with interested students and teachers to identify astronomy enthusiasts and support them in creating active clubs. Each session also includes an interactive Question & Answer segment, giving students an opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of astronomy.Through the Solar Rotation Program, Star Safari aims to build a growing community of young explorers, critical thinkers, and future scientists by transforming astronomy from a classroom concept into an exciting, hands-on experience of discovery.
Because Astronomy depends on clear skies, our weather & Sky conditions Team continuously monitors forecasts, cloud cover and moon phases. Schools will receive updates and recommendations on the best nights for observation, ensuring students enjoy the highest quality stargazing experience possible.
School booking operations on a first come , first served basis. We encourage schools to check our availability calendar or directly contact our Reservations Team and reserve their preferred dates early, especially during peak school terms.
During significant astronomy events such as eclipses, planetary alignments, meteor showers or notable celestial appearances, our team can visit schools during the day free for Schools and Institutions on our Solar Rotation program, a small outreach fee for the rest.
